We all know the "puka" problem in Hawaii. Potholes are more than just a nuisance; they damage suspensions and pose safety hazards on coastal highways and local community roads alike.

ALA PUKA empowers local drivers to actively contribute to island road health without changing their daily routine. By mounting your smartphone, opening the mapping service, and driving, you passively log z-axis suspension shock thresholds. The data is anonymized and aggregated to give counties clear metrics on which sections need urgent repair.

In a unique collaboration with the Hawaii County DMV, drivers can renew their vehicles with the official ALA PUKA 501(c)(3) Charitable Decal (which features our circular green wave logo as the decal).

100% of the decal program fees go directly into a public asphalt fund managed by Hawaiian Hills. This fund is used to purchase hot-mix asphalt for community-led pothole repairs on under-served roads in the Hilo, Puna, and Kona districts. Show your support with the decal and help heal our island roads!
